Interview with Georges St-Pierre about the Mindset of a Fighter.

I had the wonderful chance to train with UFC champion Georges St-Pierre, and interview him about how he mentally prepares for big fights. While the conversation was structured around MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, there were a lot of parallels with Stoic philosophy. In particular, what stuck out was Georges’ description of how before fights he limits his focus so that he focus on only what he can control, and he pays no attention to what is outside of his control.

I am always interested in examples of how people have come upon Stoic principals on their own, even when they are not studying Stoic philosophy.
